WISCASSET — Bruce C. Seigars, 48, of Ready Point Road died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at his residence from cancer of the appendix).
He was born in Hartford, CT on November 21, 1962, a son of James A. and Mary E. (Boudin) Seigars. On May 22, 1983 he married Rebecca M. DeLong and they resided in Wiscasset.
He became a licensed motorcycle safety instructor in 1993 and was dedicated to both the political and safety arenas. The National Motorcycle Safety Foundation awarded him “Outstanding Rider Coach of Maine” in 2004. He co-owned REGROUP Motorcycle Education, a hands-on training school. He loved motorcycling. It was his passion! He lived to ride and teach. He bought his first motorcycle from Oscar Cronk of Cronk’s Outdoor Supply.
Bruce owned and operated Bruce’s Burner Service from 1991-2002. He was employed at Wiscasset School System, MSAD #75, Ames Supply, Le Garage, Dead River, Ace Plumbing & Heating, Harry’s Heating, Bob Kimmich’s service station where he held a motor vehicle inspection license. He also ran a paper route in Wiscasset. He graduated from Wiscasset High School in 1982 and attended the New England Fuel Institute for heating system maintenance and repair.
He was a member, area representative, county director, and Region II Vice President of the United Bikers of Maine from 1982-1999. He helped establish the current motorcycle safety and training standards for the State of Maine and in 1994 received the “Generous Contribution Award for Motorcycle Rider Education”. He was also a charter member of the Sons of American Legion in Wiscasset.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Seigars, of Wiscasset, his parents Jim and Mary Seigars, of Wiscasset, two brothers; Jim Seigars, Jr., of Wiscasset and Jay Seigars, of Westport Island, his father-in-law Robert DeLong and wife Linda, of Florida, his mother-in-law Asenath Morton and husband Butch, of Westport Island, many aunts, uncles, cousins, three nieces and three nephews.
At the request of Bruce, no service will be held. However, in the Spring of 2011, there will be a gathering of family and friends with a motorcycle ride to celebrate his life.

Albert Johann Taylor, 58, passed away peacefully Oct. 3, 2010, at his home. He was born March 6, 1952, in Neuhausen-Schlierse, Germany, the son of Dorough and Agnes Weidinger Taylor.
At age 9, Albert moved to the U.S. with his family. Al was happily married to the love of his life, Adriene Havens Taylor for seven years. Together they loved riding his motorcycle throughout the state enjoying nature and attending many functions, including the Toy Run for children. He received a special plaque for being the disc jockey at the Downeast Tattoo Show for several years.
He loved fishing, camping and just spending time in the Maine outdoors. Pictures throughout his home show of his love for his family through his photography.
Al was self-employed for a few years as a fisherman on several boats from Beals and Jonesport. He fished on a vessel, which capsized and he unselfishly dove to recover his captain. He was also employed at Moosehead Furniture, Monson.
Al was a member of United Biker’s of Maine, in which he held the offices of president, vice president and secretary. He received many patches for these honors as well as county director, assistant county director and area representative.
In the 1970s Al enjoyed being with his friends in the A.J. Wheeler Rock and Roll band as its drummer.

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine — Stephen Edward Poole, 43, of South Berwick, Maine, left this world suddenly on Aug. 5, 2010, in Pensacola, Fla., to start his next big adventure.

He was born in Exeter, N.H. on Nov. 15, 1966, the son of Allen R. Poole and Maxine (Bubar) M. Crouch. He just did it all. He had a zest for life that most people only dream about.

He graduated from Marshwood High School in 1985. In 1987, he married his best friend Cindy Littlefield and they spent the next 23 years together living one adventure after another. He has two children, Brenda Anne Poole and James Edward Poole, and they were the absolute proudest accomplishments of his life.

He was the owner of Fuel Solutions. He worked in the environmental field for more than 20 years, and at the time of his passing, he was working at the Gulf Coast oil spill as part of the Hot Shot Recovery Team for Global Remediations. He was also co-owner of Sub-Surface Inspection with Tim Burbank.

He was the mechanic for the family race team, JB Racing, in which both his children were racers. He did more in his short life than most people can even imagine doing.

His life touched thousands of lives. He was involved with both the Boy and Girl Scouts of America with his children when they were younger and helped to organize the South Berwick Pine Wood Derby and floats for the Christmas Parades. He loved every and any type of motor racing and traveled the country racing with his family.

He was a past director of York County United Bikers of Maine. He volunteered his time to organize toy runs, serve at spaghetti dinners to benefit the homeless shelters and many other events to benefit the needy.

He was an instrumental part of legislation for the Maine Ride Safe Motorcycle Plates. He was a firm believer in supporting all veterans and would greet the troops arriving home every chance he could. He helped to bring The Wall That Heals, Vietnam Veterans Memorial to York in 1998.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to snowmobile in Northern Maine. He was part of the Ford Bold Moves Super Duty Run in 2008. He was a member of the Yorkshire Lodge, No. 179 A.F. & A.M. of North Berwick. He was also a member of the Petroleum Institute of America and American Water Works Association.

His favorite thing was to finally get home and spend time with his family and two labs, Duke and Millie. He was preceded in death by his uncle, John Edward Poole. His memory lives on in his wife, Cindy Poole; son, James Poole of South Berwick; and his daughter, Brenda Poole and her partner, Alex Kessler, of Portland, his mother, Maxine (Bubar) Crouch and her husband, John, of Shapleigh; his father, Allen R. Poole and his wife, Diane, of Eliot; his sister, Kelly J. Nadeau and her husband, Chris; nieces Kaitlyn, Lindsay, and Mallory; all of South Berwick; sister- in-law Holly C. Littlefield of Eden Prairie, Minn.; and brother-in-law Michael J. Littlefield of South Berwick; uncles, aunts, cousins and more “brothers” and “sisters” than ever could be mentioned here … you are all loved. Wind.

A funeral will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the First Parish Federated Church in South Berwick. Parking will be available at Central School and at the Park and Ride behind the town offices. Friends may visit with Stephen’s family on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, ME 03904, where a Masonic service will be held at 5 p.m.
